Not only does Jacksonville have stunning murals, a beautiful skyline, festive Friendship Fountain, historic Florida Theater, but also it has gorgeous nature backdrops. Including Treaty Oak Park and the St. Johns River. All in the heart of downtown. And perfect for engagement photo session!
This joyful couple brought their own sign for the shoot. As a result, we got adorable pictures to use for their Save the Date cards. Lastly, we were able to catch their excitement for the upcoming wedding.
Above all, we love getting the chance to shoot engagement rings. There are so many types, and all are beautiful.

Saint Augustine Engagement Photos at Beautiful Garden Location
We adore Sara and Kyle’s engagement pictures at Washington Oaks Garden State Park. It was a great experience that allowed the couple to familiarize with the photographers prior to the wedding. They are such a sweet and adorable couple. Truly a pleasure to work with and so glad they chose us to photograph their wedding day!
Karen and Jerry Favorite are always inventing new ways to connect with the couple to produce the most beautiful engagement photos. From creating fun and relaxing environments to offering subtle directions for natural photographs. Sara and Kyle were the perfect couple. And even if you’re not “models” and used to getting your picture taken, it can be a wonderful experience!

St Augustine’s Vilano Beach Engagement Photo Session
We heart Shari and Michael’s engagement pictures on the beach. Scheduled about a year before their spring wedding. It was a great time to get familiar with the photographer and really develop a relationship. The bride and groom got tons of amazing pictures and it helped everyone be more comfortable on the bid wedding day.
Jerry and Karen Favorite always make sure to create a relaxing, fun environment. Offering subtle directions for beautiful, natural photos. Lots of candid shots mixed in with a variety of poses. We’re always coming up with new ideas. Finding inspiration with our couple’s interests and even favorite Pinterest pics. Shari brought some scrabble pieces to spell “LOVE” using her engagement ring for the O.
St Augustine Engagement Photographer’s Location Recommendations
Beautiful outdoor engagement pictures by the sea. Natural greenery and oak trees, along with our sandy Florida beach are great backdrops for an engagement session. There are so many wonderful locations to shoot at for pictures all throughout Saint Augustine. North Beach Park, just south of Ponte Vedra Beach and north of Vilano Beach, is a little hidden gem. Convenient and not overly crowded, it’s a great spot for “outdoorsy” and “beachy” pictures!
Shari and Michael are such a cute couple. Full of laughter and love. Shari wore a pretty blue dress for one of her engagement session outfits. Giving a hint of their wedding color palette. The vibrant royal blue was used in their bridesmaid dresses, flowers and accents.

Summer may be hot in Florida, but it’s also sizzling with love! Romantic proposals have ensued with heart-stopping “Yes!” replies made and wedding plans are in progress. During all the stresses of being engaged, a lovely engagement photo session should not be one of them.
Andrew + Katie = LOVE
Here is a wonderful example of a fantastic couple with beautiful pictures capturing the essence of their engagement. They were nervous going into the photo shoot – not many people are completely comfortable in front of the camera. For a no-stress engagement session, we recommend starting with a little pre-planning.
Select outfits you look and feel good in. Notice Katie’s cool leopard print pumps! A great accent to a classic black dress. Andrew certainly looked dashing in all black with brown belt and shoes. Our engagement sessions include an outfit change along with a change up in scenery. So we recommend locations that offer a lot of natural beauty and variety.
Washington Oaks Gardens in Palm Coast, Florida was the perfect tropical paradise for Andrew and Katie. They warmed up quickly to getting their picture taken. With a few posing tips, they were good-to-go. So natural and fun! Their engagement session was a blast.
The golden hour before sunset is the most glorious for pictures on the beach. It can be a little windy (but that just helps keep the gnats away)! The coquina sand and rocks found along our East Coast are a favorite of ours. Love the crashing waves. And their big smiles.
If you have guessed by Katie’s zebra print dress, they’ve got a little “jungle love” theme going on. And of course it will be carried through to their wedding at the Jacksonville Zoo this spring! What an honor to be chosen as their photographer. I don’t like to dole out too much advise, but it never hurts to just relax and have fun with your pictures. Letting your true selves shine is always beautiful.

Winter is a lovely time in Florida for newly engaged couples to celebrate together. The magical holiday season is full of love and laughter. Introducing Lyndsey and Chris, a truly fantastic couple! Jerry had the pleasure of being their photographer for these lovely engagement pictures as well as their wedding day photos. They are super sweet and a little bit county. Check out these cowboy and cowgirl boots.
Their outfits were a perfect balance of dressy and yet casual. We think it’s important to wear clothes on your engagement session that make you look and feel good. Pick outfits that are comfortable and don’t be afraid of wearing a little color. Lyndsey’s white lace dress looked great with Chris’s blue oxford and jeans. Both wore brown boots to top off (or should I say down) their ensemble. They did a wonderful outfit change, going a little ‘nautical’ for the beach pictures.
St Augustine is always a favorite for couples and us as photographers. There are so many unique spots full of history, mystery and romance. Historic downtown St Augustine is a perfect balance between rustic and elegant with eclectic patterns, colors and a comfortable atmosphere that draws people from all over the world. The textures of Castillo de san Marcos fort walls are an amazing backdrop. Every engagement session is different as there’s an endless supply of hidden places for taking pictures.
A short drive away is beautiful Vilano Beach. It’s a perfect time for an outfit change and a change of scenery for even more lovely engagement pictures. Ending an engagement session on the beach with a setting sun is a photographer’s dream. We’re so happy to live and photograph so many amazing couples here in Saint Augustine… one of the very best cities in Florida.

Last year we had the pleasure to photograph and videograph their engagement session and wedding day. We went to Saint Augustine for this engagement photo shoot, starting at the Castillo de san Marcos fort and ending at Vilano Beach. They did an outfit change from a more dresser look to a comfortable, casual style. Kissy selected a classic black dress and then a more fun, colorful red dress for the beach. They are such a fantastic couple!

San Marco Engagement Photography Session by Jerry Favorite
We love being part of a young couple’s journey and it’s very special to capture their feelings and emotions for each other. It’s one of the reasons we are so passionate about photographing engagement sessions. These are the pictures they will look back on years from now and say, “Wow, we looked awesome back then!” (only partly kidding) Really, it is a wonderful reflection to have images that express your relationship and tell the story of how it all began. Katrina and Daniel have such memories from their engagement photo session in the San Marco area of Jacksonville, Florida.
As we approach our 17th wedding anniversary, we reminisce about Jerry proposing to Karen on a romantic walk through San Marco after a delicious dinner at the then Café Carmon restaurant. If you scroll to the bottom of this post, you’ll see a flash back shot from our engagement session!
Colors are fabulous for making a photos express your personality (unlike our old-school white shirts and jeans). Blues and pinks look great (neon colors and bold contrasty patterns, not so much). As well as natural colors, like Katrina and Daniel’s olive green for a more modern, urban style. Though eventually styles do seem to come back into fashion… high-waisted, stone-washed jeans anyone?
