Wedding Pictures should be FUN!!!
We think that wedding pictures should be fun and filled with life! The best time to get joyful candid wedding photos is during the reception. For example, the wedding pictures of people dancing and laughing during the reception are so energetic. Although there are not many reception pictures in this post, feel free to check out Logan + Shane’s wedding for some lively reception pictures.
Wedding Pictures Pose Ideas
Candid wedding pictures are great, but it is also important to get some posed pictures. Pinterest is one of the best places to get inspiration! However, looking at a photographer’s wedding pictures is an even better place to get inspired. On our blog and website we constantly share pictures with different and unique poses. A forehead kiss and the bride looking over her shoulder are timeless poses.

Sarah + Kenneth’s Fountain of Youth Wedding|Saint Augustine Wedding Photographers Jerry and Karen Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Fountain of Youth Wedding Pictures
Sarah and Kenneth got married at the Fountain of Youth which is located in the heart of Saint Augustine. This beautiful outdoor venue is great for smaller and larger weddings. The open fields and roaming peacocks decorate the historic venue. There are lots of trees that provide even lighting and beautiful backdrops.
First Look
Moments before their ceremony this couple decided to do a first look. Plus, this special moment is one they will remember for the rest of their life. We are lucky enough to have the honor to capture that special moment. There is a pride to be taken in recording these special moments.
Unique Wedding Ceremony Idea
It is becoming more common for couples to have alternative wedding ceremonies. This couple planted a money tree for their ceremony. These unique ceremonies have a special meaning to the couples. For example, the money tree represents prosperity and luck.
Neutral Bridesmaids Dresses
Neutral colors and the outdoors are a classic combo. The lively greens and the calming neutrals always photograph beautifully. Additionally, the white roses and other flowers add to the neutral vibe of the wedding.
Outside Pictures
The Fountain of Youth offers breath taking ocean front views. Additionally, the large oak trees provide blockage from the sun and even shadows for pictures. The venue is well maintained and the landscaping is always done.
Fountain of Youth = Peacocks!
When people think of the Fountain of Youth their mind goes straight to Ponce de Leon. But what many people don’t know is that the property is filled with wild roaming peacocks. Additionally, the venue is on the water and offers stunning views off of their dock.
Time to Dance!
Our style is natural and candid. This can best be seen in pictures of people dancing during the reception. The life and movement in these pictures captures the energy of the guests of the wedding. The funky dance moves and big smiles bring a sense of life to the pictures.
Eco-Friendly Wedding Exit
Couples usually have the dilemma of picking a grad exit for their wedding. A lot of venues don’t allow sparklers (most common exit). And a great alternative is bubbles because they are better for the environment and filled with life. Bubbles always just a smile on people’s faces and are interactive for guest. Plus, if you have children at your wedding the kids will go bananas for them!

Dance Your Heart Out
We want all of our couples to have fun and feel comfortable during their session. A great way to do this is to have the couples dance. Dancing helps couples get out of their shell and become more comfy. Also, it makes for the cutest photos and lots of laughs.
Engagement Pictures at Magnolia Ave
All of the photos above were at Magnolia Ave in downtown Saint Augustine. As Saint Augustine Engagement Photographers we know the best spots for photos. This hidden gem of Saint Augustine is rarely busy, and picture perfect. Additionally, the colors and arching trees create a magical atmosphere.
Outfit Change: Dress Blues
During engagement sessions we allow the couples to change their outfits. Firstly, this couple started out in a classic outfit combo. Secondly, they changed into a white dress and dress blues (formal ceremonial military outfit). Lastly, they changed into another coordinated outfit with light colors.
Photos Should be Fun & Have Personality
HAVE FUN! Getting your picture taken is more than a formality, but an experience. We want our couples to be comfortable enough to express themselves and how they interact with each other. For example, in the photo above Sarah & Kenneth are goofing around by making funny faces!
Flagler College
The halls of Flagler College are a historical landmark in Saint Augustine. These pictures are in the main entrance of the university that is open to the public during certain hours. Flagler College has a beautiful garden and stone hallways that are great for engagement sessions.
Engagement Pictures by the Water
Fun fact, the Saint Johns River runs through historic downtown Saint Augustine. The Bridge of Lions is a beautiful light green color, and if you walk slightly past it there is a dock. The wooden dock is secluded from tourists, and gets a perfect view of the river meeting the ocean.

Loving Hand Written Letters
Getting Ready Pictures
The Crosswater Hall at Nocatee has a inviting bridal room. In addition, to the large windows that fill the room with natural light there is a floor to ceiling mirror. We suggest that brides put on their wedding dress in front of the mirror. Its warm natural light illuminates the love in the bride’s eyes.
Pink and Purple Roses
Who doesn’t like a pop of color? Morgan infused her wedding bouquet with pink and purple roses. As a result her pictures beam with color and love. Additionally, the flowers are a nice feature in detail pictures.

Natural & Candid Wedding Pictures
Every photographer has their own style, each beautifully unique. We take satisfaction in our work, and our customers’ joy when they receive their pictures. When we describe ourselves as natural we are referring to out photojournalistic style and organic lighting.
“Take a Shot, We Tied the Knot”
Custom wedding favors are everything. Most importantly, it is a nice way to thank your guests for coming to your wedding.
Couple’s First Dance
First, have your bridal party walk into the reception to an energetic song of their choice. Then have them line up along the dance floor. Secondly, when the bride and groom do their grand entrance have them go straight into their first dance. This is great because it gets the first dance done while you still have the guests’ attention. Finally, enjoy the first dance because its a special moment in any couple’s relationship.
Wedding Details Inspiration
It’s the little details that make a wedding special. Above all the details make the day more special for the couple and their guests. This couple had custom signs and beer koozies. Plus, they had a jar for quests to fill with hearts. The guests wrote “wishes for the happy couple” on the hearts.
Sorority Sisters for Life
Sparkler Grand Exit at Crosswater Hall
The most common wedding exit is sparklers. Most weddings we shoot incorporate it. However, they never get old. They are a sparkling classic (pun intended)!

Channel Side Wedding Venue
The Channel Side is a newer wedding venue located in Palm Coast. Their waterfront location is perfect for any wedding. They have a beautiful outdoor space that is great for wedding ceremonies. Channel Side has lots a spots for pictures. Their venue has a little something for everyone.
Sunflowers & Wedding Rings
Sunflowers are a symbol of happiness and longevity. Plus, their vibrant colors are absolutely stunning. Some could argue that sunflowers are almost as common as roses as wedding flowers. To match the country aesthetic of sunflowers this couple chose a simple wooden box to hold their rings. There is a beauty in its minimalism.
First Touch
This happy couple chose to do a first touch after getting ready. This practice is intimate and heart warming. While being unable to see one another they reach their hands out for one another.
First Look Inspiration
Just like the first touch, the first look is an intimate moment shared between the couple.First, the bride taps the groom on the shoulder to signal for him to turn around. Then the groom stands to face his beautiful bride. Lastly, the couple share a personal moment. We recommend posing the shot before having the bride approach the groom.

Outside Wedding Ceremony
At Logan & Shane’s wedding they brought in a wooden arbor covered in sunflowers. The DIY wooden arbor fit the vibes perfectly. Additionally, they had a sign that read “pick a seat, not a side, you’re loved by both.’ This wooden heart sign is was one of the many details at the wedding ceremony. We love these custom wooden signs.
Unity Sand Ceremony
The pouring of multicolored sand is symbolic of two people coming together in matrimony. The sand is poured into a glass container and then sealed forever. Logan & Shane had a heart shaped glass that they filled with blue and white sand. We love this symbolic gesture of pouring sand during a wedding ceremony.
Couple Pictures
We recommend that couples plan in about one hour for cocktail hour. While guests are having ordures and drinks, we like to take pictures of the bride and groom. Locations like The Channel Side have lots of photogenic spots for pictures of the newlyweds.
Small Bridal Parties are in!
As we all know, many weddings were postponed or reduced the guest count because of covid-19. However, many couples also chose to have smaller bridal parties. This happy couple chose to only have a maid of honor and a best man for their wedding.
Sunflowers & Navy Blue Wedding Details
Covid-19 Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are a long standing tradition associated with tying the knot. Many couples gave out masks and had sanitizer during the pandemic. At this wedding they put clever stickers on the hand sanitizer with their names. These custom details are what make a wedding special. Additionally, there were sunflower seed wedding favors. These custom favors said “let love grow.”
Fun Games for your Wedding Reception
Time to party! Wedding receptions are a time to dance and celebrate the new married couple. In addition to that, some couple choose to play a game. The game pictured above is when a characteristic is said and the couple raise the shoe of who fits it best. This game is guaranteed to make everyone laugh!
Custom Golf Cake Topper
This wedding three tier cake has white frosting, blue ribbon, and sunflowers. Any golf fanatic would love this custom cake topper where the bride is dragging the groom.
Glow Sticks
One way to add to your wedding reception is to give guests glow sticks to dance with.
Intimate Last Dance
An intimate first dance is when everyone, but the couple and photographers leave the reception. A pre-picked song is played and the couple shares a final dance to end the night. We always feel honored to be a part of this moment because of how special it is.
Grand Glow Stick Wedding Exit
An alternative grand exit idea is to give your guests glow sticks. This grand exit idea is bright and colorful.

Matching Tattoos
The bride and her mother have matching tattoos. They requested that we get pictures of them showing off their tattoos. We love shooting these unique details.
“I’ll always be your little girl”
The bride got custom cufflinks for her father. One cufflink says “I’ll always be your little girl” and the other has a picture of the two of them. She gave her father the present after their first look. This was a very special moment that left the father crying.
Cathedral Basilica of St.Augustine Wedding Ceremony
This historic church was built in the late 1700’s. It has gorgeous stain glass windows and gold details. This happy couple had their ceremony in the Cathedral Basilica of St.Augustine. Additionally, we were able to go up on the balcony to get a new perspective. This angel change allows you to see the entire church. Besides the pictures, we got some really great video of the wedding ceremony.

Bridal Party
After the ceremony, we took the bridal party to the square for some pictures. Getting a variety of pictures is very important. We want to ensure our clients are happy with their pictures. First, we took pictures of the entire bridal party. Then we took separate pictures of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We also took pictures of the bride and groom with each bridesmaid/groomsmen. Next, we will shoot the bride with the groomsmen and the groom with the bridesmaids. Finally, we will take pictures of just the bride and groom.
Pictures are for Having Fun
We like to encourage people to be themselves and have fun when taking pictures. Getting a good mix of formal and fun pictures is important to us.

Beth + Andrew had a Tucker’s Farmhouse Wedding | Florida Wedding Photographers Jerry and Karen Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Tucker’s Farmhouse Wedding
The main barn on the property was built in 1986. However, the first wedding to take place on the property didn’t happen until 2013. This unique location hosts weddings of all sizes and always photographs beautifully. Tucker’s Farmhouse is a full service location that offers set up, decorating, coordinating for the ceremony and reception. Additionally, the farmhouse does the breakdown and cleanup.
We loved walking around this rustic farmhouse with the couple for pictures. There are tons of picture perfect spots scattered throughout the property. Additionally, the area is lit up at night by twinkly lights that make the night even more magical.
Cheers!
While the bride finished getting the final touches done with hair and makeup we got pictures of the bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid had a violet robe and custom socks. They sat on this trendy couch and cheered to the happy couple.
Light Blue Bridesmaids Dresses
Recently, a lot of brides will let their bridesmaids pick which style of dress they prefer and just require it to be a certain color. This trend is great because it allows the bridesmaids to pick a style that they feel the most confident in. Also, each bridesmaid had wore flats for comfort and practicality. Even the bride wore a pair of sparkly white Keds.
Ironman Wedding Details
Who doesn’t love superheroes? This groom was a huge fan of Ironman and decided to wear socks and cufflinks that demonstrated that. Additionally, each of his groomsmen wore Marvel themes socks. In the pictures to follow you can see them showing them off. Over and above that, each groomsmen got a custom glass pint with their last name on it (shown below). These are a great gift to get your groomsmen.
Custom Shot Glasses
Beth + Andrew got a custom whiskey decanter made for their wedding ceremony. Additionally, the shot glasses even say Mr & Mrs Lancaster! After they finished saying their vows they took a shot together. It is personalized touches like these that truly make your wedding special.
Happily Ever After
We’ve all heard a story where the price and his princess ride off into the sunset, and live “Happily Ever After.” Tucker’s Farmhouse has a sign for pictures that reads “Happily Ever After” that sits on an antique couch by the barn. This is one of the many picture perfect spots on the property.
Candid + Posed Wedding Pictures
Photographing those raw moments is just as important as getting those beautifully posed pictures. Also, we want everyone of our clients to have a good variety in their wedding photos, and be able to look back and smile at them.

Lauren + Thomas had a Saint Augustine River House Wedding | Florida Wedding Photographers Jerry and Karen Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Traditional Wedding
This happy couple got married at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine. They had a beautiful ceremony at the grand church in downtown. After their ceremony all guests migrated to the River House just a mile down the road for the cocktail party and then reception.
Morning of Wedding Letters
Lauren + Thomas wrote letters to one another to read before their wedding. While reading her letter Lauren was overcome with tears of joy. We’ve seen more and more couples doing these letters and we are here for it. They are sentimental and set a good mood for the day.
Wedding Rings
Wedding rings symbolize the never ending love of a couple. Her engagement ring has a princess cut diamond and a twisted band. As they say, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine
The Basilica was built in 1797 and still stands to this day. The old church still holds regular mass services. It is a common place for couples to get married. It has vibrant stained glass that line the walls and a grand alter. This couple had a traditional catholic wedding ceremony. Also, we were able to get shots from above as the father walked the bride down the isle.
Lets Take This Outside
We like to take a few formals of the couple, bridal party, and family right after the ceremony. However, we also like to goo outside for a few more pictures. During this time is when we get most of the pictures of the bride and groom.
There are many beautiful places scattered in downtown that are great for pictures. One great place is the Lightner Museum. It has lots of pretty architecture and plants that look good in photographs.
“Act Natural”
Some of the best pictures are more natural or even candid. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident when getting their pictures taken. On the other hand, we also make sure to get some more serious posed pictures. Often we tell the groomsmen to lean on one another and stand more casual to get more “natural” pictures.
Generations
We are totally here for these types of pictures. Brides often want a picture with the wedding bands of parents and grandparents. These sentimental photos show the love of past generations.
Saint Augustine River House Wedding
Just a little walk from the heart of downtown Saint Augustine, Florida is the Saint Augustine River House. This riverfront property hosts a number of events, including weddings. From the dock you can see the historic lighthouse and the blue waters of the Matanzas River.
When guests first arrive at the River House they walk through the building and sign the guest book. Then they can go down by the water with their specialty cocktail or hors-d’oeuvre. Next they’ll relax and wait to be brought into the reception hall and take their seat. Finally, they’ll clap and celebrate as the newly weds enter the reception.
Cake of Macaroons
This aesthetic wedding cake with macaroons and edible gold flakes stole the show. It might have been hidden in the corner, but it definitely caught people’s attention. The unique design and soft pinks and peaches helped set the mood. Additionally, the personalized wedding topper includes the couple’s corgi and cat.
#Selfie
As wedding photographers we find it just as important to capture candid moments just as much as the posed pictures. We want our clients to look back on their wedding pictures and remember all the great memories.
Pictures at Sunset
Locations like the River House are great because they offer an outdoor and indoor setting. During sunset we took the happy couple outside for some pictures. Theres nothing more romantic than pictures at sunset over the Matanzas River.
Intimate Last Dance
Recently, more and more of our clients have chosen to do a last dance. This is when everyone (except the photographers) goes outside or into another room. So that the couple can dance to one last song together. This intimate moment is one of our favorites to capture because of how special this moment is. Not to mention, it makes for some spectacular photos.
Horse & Carriage
If you’ve ever been downtown then you’ve probably seen one of the horse and carriages before. They are a staple of downtown. Often couples who get married downtown will rent one for the evening and ride around the streets after their grand exit.

Wedding Details
From jewelry to table settings there are so many details to capture during a wedding. As Jacksonville Wedding Photographers we try to shoot it all! Additionally, we brought our macro lens to get amazing close-ups of the rings. Rings are a big part of weddings because they symbolize the couple’s never ending love. Recently, we had two brides that personalized their wedding bouquets by adding sentimental brooch. Click here to see more.

Lauran + Whitney had an Amelia Island Beach Wedding at the Ritz Carlton
Florida Wedding Photographers Karen and Hannah Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Amelia Island Beach Wedding at the Ritz Carlton
The happy couple had their wedding ceremony on the beach, and their reception in the Ritz Carlton ballroom. Additionally, the couple and their guests all stayed at the hotel for the weekend. This is very convenient, especially for guests who come from out of town. Being able to walk from the ceremony to the reception area is trouble-free.
Personalized Details
Each wedding is unique to the couple. Often times, couples will add sentimental trinkets to their wedding. Lauran and Whitney did this by adding their grandmother’s brooches to their bridal bouquets. This sweet addition to their wedding made the day a tad more special. Also, it is a great way to remember family members that couldn’t be at the wedding.
First Look!
The Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island has a long natural lit hallway that was the PERFECT location for this first look. Lauran walked down the long hallway to her beautiful bride so they could see one another in their dresses for the first time.
Mrs & Mrs Balloons
This beautiful same-sex couple purchased two “Mrs” balloons to take pictures with. We love this creative and cute idea! Props always look great in photographs.
Intimate Wedding Ceremony
This pandemic has been difficult for everyone. Many of our customers have had to completely change their wedding. The original efficient for this couple was unable to make it to the wedding, and made an audio recording that was played during the ceremony. In the two pictures above the brides are getting emotional over the surprise recording.
This Amelia Island Beach Wedding at the Ritz Carlton was beautiful. Beach weddings are really common here in Florida, but we never get tired of photographing them. Click here to see some cool beach engagement pictures.
Fashion can be Practical
This adorable custom leather jacket actually saved Whitney from freezing. You can’t tell in these pictures, but it was freezing at Amelia Island this February day.
Picture of all the Guests
After their wedding ceremony was over we gathered all the guests together for a big group shot. It’s great getting pictures with everyone especially when most family members are from out of town. Additionally, all the guests were given leis to wear because Whitney went to university in Hawaii (another one of the personalized touches).
Time to Party
We are here for their energy! Everyone was on the dance floor having the time of their lives. The guests were even using the decorations as make-shift microphones! We love capturing these candid moments during every wedding reception.
