We photographed the Thompson’s wedding years ago and now they are having their second child. Wow… time flies!
Capturing special moments in people’s lives is one of our greatest gifts as photographers. As a team we are maternity, newborn, and family photographers dedicated to serving the people of Jacksonville and Saint Augustine. Florida is our home and we are proud to be Jacksonville photographers. As such we pride ourselves in knowing the hidden gems of the area that are perfect for any family or couple’s personal style.
Walter Jones Historical Park
This historic 10 acre park was founded in 1994 and is a charming place for engagement, family or maternity pictures. The park offers a diverse array of backgrounds for photos. It has lots of greenery as well as numerous types of flowers that look stunning in photographs. Additionally, little children love to pick the flowers and have fun which makes for great candid shots with big smiles. Apart from the lively flora, is the historic white house that sits in the center of the park. We often find ourselves posing families at the back and front of the house for pictures, but occasionally we’ll have kids who run around the place. Their enthusiasm is a joy to photograph naturally.
Maternity Picture Ideas
There are definitely some classic maternity picture poses like resting the hands on the belly. But there are also some other creative shots that we enjoy taking. For example, we love overlaying the parents hands on the baby bump to create a heart. Not only is this cute, but it symbolizes all the love that the parents have for their unborn child. Pictures where an older sibling is kissing their mother’s stomach is adorable. When we photograph a maternity session with other big brother/sister, we make sure to do this pose. It is always a crowd pleaser.
As adorable as their daughter was, we made sure to get pictures without her. We find it equally important to get photos of just the couple during a maternity session, as well as beautiful pictures of the pregnant mother-to-be.
I don’t know if you can tell but it was pouring rain in these last series of photographs. Florida weather is so unpredictable, but luckily is didn’t start raining until the end of this maternity session. We had enough time to take shelter under the house, and were still able to keep taking gorgeous pictures.
Family’s First Year Photos: Highlights from Maternity, Newborn, 6 Month and 1 Year Photo Sessions
We photographed Tracy and Dan’s wedding in July of 2011 and was so excited to hear they were expecting their first baby two years later. It is always an honor to photograph new families, especially when we’ve had the opportunity to see how their relationship started – from engagement session to wedding day.
Maternity Pictures | Beautiful Outdoor Session
Tracy and Dan’s maternity session last summer was shot at the lovely Washington Oaks gardens and beach in Palm Coast. Tracy looked fantastic in the jewel purple and the rich greens were a beautiful backdrop for their maternity pictures.
I love these belly bump photos on the beach. Tracy and Dan decided not to find out if their baby was a boy or a girl, so they incorporated both a pink and a blue ribbon. Though they did not know the gender of the baby, they had picked out the baby’s name, Jayden, and made adorable alphabet blocks in the color scheme of the nursery.
Newborn Baby Pictures | Favorite Studios Photo Session
Drum roll… it’s a GIRL! Welcome baby Jayden. She was absolutely perfect and had a gorgeous head of hair for her newborn photo session.
Their wedding rings around those cute little baby feet is classic! I also adore the Dr. Seuss props and custom chair with Jayden’s name on it that they brought for the photo shoot. They really add a custom, personalized element to their baby pictures.
6 Month Old Baby Pictures | Mandarin Park Outdoor Location Shoot
Wow, babies grow up so fast! By winter, Jayden was six months old and starting to sit up all on her own. We had a grand time exploring a nearby park for her 6-month photo session.
This adorable baby girl just loved watching the bubbles float by and playing with her mommy and daddy.
Tracy and Dan are loving parenthood! We live for capturing these precious, growing-up moments for their family to cherish and look back on years from now.
1 Year Old Baby Photos | Studio Session
I can hardly believe a year has passed! We recently brought Jayden back to the studio for her one year photo session. Check out their tradition of taking a photo with a photo in a frame, that all started on their wedding day.
All dressed up and ready for fun. During her 1-year photo shoot, she liked rocking in our rocking chair, playing with her balloons and messing around with the tulle and her pretty beaded necklace. The jumbo flower hair piece is so adorable. She is going to be running around driving all the boys crazy before we know it.

Karen recently had the joy of photographing three sisters who are all expecting. Elishia, the oldest, used a Favorite Photography gift certificate she had won at a YMCA charity auction. We love being able to help out the Jacksonville community and having the opportunity to create lasting memories for this family.
Karen enjoyed photographing the lovely three sisters and thinks it is wonderful that the cousins will be so close in age. Coming from a big family herself, Karen has one cousin within a week of her birth date and another close cousin born later that same year. Family is such an important part of our lives and we feel so lucky to be able to help capture these special moments.
Don’t you just love the dress colors the sisters chose? They each stand out on their own, and they also create a complimentary balance to each other.
The three sisters were recently featured in a Jacksonville Times Union article, describing their happy coincidence. You can read the whole article by clicking on the photo below.
