We’re excited to share some of our favorite photos and a unique fusion video from Lindsay and Sean’s St. Augustine wedding!

This cute couple got married at the River House on an absolutely wonderful day. The River House provides a gorgeous waterfront setting, that we love to shoot at.

We loved the light that was coming in the window and knew it would make for a beautiful still life.

Photographing the bride and groom getting ready is one of our favorite parts. Couples have told us that they are so caught up in of preparing for the ceremony that they don’t really have a chance to focus on the moment, and looking back at the photos gives them a rush of the emotions they were feeling.

The bride’s side was all smiles, while the groom’s was playing it cool.

The ceremony was during the magic hour for lighting, and we really liked the glow that it brought to this image. Lindsay and Sean had a very emotional ceremony, with laughs and happy tears and lots of smiles.

This was a very special moment, and we love how everyone is joined in with reverence.

Sean and Lindsay incorporated a sand ceremony into their wedding. We really love this tradition of merging two lives into one.

After the ceremony, we took Lindsay and Sean down to the dock for their first photos as husband and wife.

The River House has a beautiful area for the reception, the wood floors and all the natural light are really fantastic.

In between all the fun and dancing, we took the bride and groom outside for a beautiful portrait with the full moon above.

Bubble send-offs are always so much fun and make for great pictures! No one is ever too old to blow bubbles!

Now, check out the highlight video combining some of our favorite images with video from the day. Watch closely during the sand ceremony – you’ll see a dolphin jumping in the background!

We love the urban feel of Downtown Jacksonville. It makes a dynamic setting for photography, so we were glad when Sheena and Sam wanted to have their engagement pictures downtown.

Jerry started out with the couple at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, where the columns make a dramatic backdrop. Sheena and Sam were all smiles right from the start, and we love how comfortable they were in front of the camera.

Sheena and Sam are having a Summer wedding in Tallahassee, which is exactly 100 days from today!

Sam proposed to Sheena at the restaurant where they first met, and had their families waiting to surprise her after she said “Yes!”. They have a very endearing love story and we were so glad to be able to capture their love.

Don’t you just love Sheena’s sexy smile? Sam sure thinks she’s absolutely radiant.

After the Prime Osborn, Jerry took the couple to Memorial Park as the sun was just starting to set.

We love their connection with each other and they are a pleasure to photograph!

We designed and printed their custom engagement announcement, a 5×7 photo card, as well as a charming 4×5 “Save-the-Date” card with magnet using delightful photos of the happy couple during their engagement session.

Sheena and Sam – thank you for a wonderful day of shooting and we can’t wait until your wedding!

We recently had the joy of photographing this lovely family in St. Augustine. The Driessen family had a reunion for Grandpa’s 70th birthday, and these portraits were his surprise present!

Jerry and Karen had a great time capturing everyone’s personalities individually and together. Don’t you love his smile? We could tell he was going to be a little heart breaker.

Aren’t these sisters just the cutest? We loved the natural light with the beach house backdrop.

Grandpa came all the way from Holland to be with his family and celebrate this special birthday with them. We really enjoyed capturing him with his family.

Everyone was all smiles, which made the photo shoot so much fun. They did wonderfully with their outfit choices – complimenting each other, but also showing their individual style. This is one of our favorite pictures of the day.

We really like this photo of the two sons with their dad. There might be an ocean between them a lot of the time, but they are still a strong family.

The girls were full of giggles when their parents swung them around in the air! We love the natural moments like this.

Nothing quite like the ocean as a backdrop for family photos! We love being out on location for family portraits like these.

Thank you Driessen Family for letting us share in your celebration!

February is one of our favorite months. The last bits of winter around us, the feeling of love is in the air, and Spring is right around the corner.

As you can see, our month was filled with happy couples, new business materials, and some beyond adorable newborns!

We also had great times with our family, and made some wonderful memories. We’re so excited for Spring to be upon us! What are you most looking forward to in March?

If you follow us on Facebook, you might remember Becca & Chris’ engagement session with Karen in downtown Jacksonville. We’re happy to share their wedding with you today!

Becca and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day at Crown Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront. We had a lot of fun capturing the details of the afternoon.

The ceremony and reception was at the Ramona Pavilion, with a picturesque outdoor ceremony by the lake with a glowing fountain and a festive reception inside the dance hall.

Becca and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous!

Doesn’t Becca look stunning? We loved the backdrop of this spot and Becca makes it come alive.

The bride and groom were all smiles – the natural light is just sublime right here.

In addition to traditional images, we try to capture unique angles when shooting wedding photography.

The horse and carriage that they made their exit from the ceremony on was a beautiful element and made for some lovely photos.

Making their big entrance as husband and wife. This is always one of our favorite moments of the day.

For their exit, Becca and Chris had ribbon wands with bells on them. They made for a colorful and musical send off!

Many many congratulations to Chris and Becca! We can’t wait to see where your journey together takes you, and we’re so glad we were a part of your big day!

Brittany and Chris spent a couple of hours with Jerry in downtown St. Augustine and Vilano beach for their engagement pictures. You can see from their expressions how happy they are with each other and their love is so bright.

Brittany and Chris are from the same town in Georgia and met after college. Their first date was at 4:45 am at the gym and then coffee afterwards!

Chris proposed to Brittany during a very special dinner at Bonefish Grill. We asked Brittany for the details of this special day, and she shared with us what happened after they had eaten their dinner and decided to order dessert:

When the dessert arrived, it had a candle and some writing on the plate. I read on the plate, ‘Will You Marry Me’. It took me several seconds to understand and process what was happening. Finally, I see Chris grab something shiny from the plate and get down on one knee. It was then that I had realized my dream was coming true. I was going to marry my best friend.

We love the colors Brittany chose for her outfits – she looked beautiful! And the teal and coral colors match their beach themed wedding as they wanted something fun, modern and perfect for a refreshing summer wedding.

Brittany and Chris – we cannot wait to photograph your wedding in July! Thanks for sharing this special time with us.

Do you want picture perfect wedding photographs of your first dance? First and foremost, enjoy the moment! Just focusing on each other is key for romantic, beautiful first dance pictures as newly pronounced husband and wife.

We’re not great dancers ourselves, so there’s no way we’d recommend two step over the waltz. We’re just the photographers with a good eye that will capture your first dance jitters, tears and laughter.

Professional dancers need not apply. If you’ve already got your moves down pat, you could no doubt give us a pointer or two. However, many have the two-left-feet and/or fear of being the center of attention in a room full of people syndrome and could use a little advice. So here goes. Whether or not you take special dance classes together, it never hurts to go over your game plan for this special moment. And we have three easy tips to consider incorporating into your repertoire:

1. Start out slow. Take that deep breath, look into each others eyes and really feel the moment. Sometimes it takes a little time to settle into the swing of things and there’s really no need to sweep around the entire dance floor like your Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (or whomever won last season’s Dancing with the Stars).

2. Don’t do any one thing the entire song… do a combination of movements with your heads, hands and arms. (note to left-feeters: even you can do this while going in a slow circle.) For example:
    – Dance super close hugging tightly for a moment, then loosen up and give space between you.
    – Ladies, try your arms up around his shoulders, and down to his biceps, then maybe with hands resting on his chest
    – Guys, you have it easy, just keep your arms low around her waist but feel free to move those hands up and around her back (go as low as grandma would approve of)
    – Candid shots are our favorite, but you’ll also love a cheek to cheek look at the camera at least once as you go around

3. Tack on a grand finale – no stress needed – Go for a slow dip at the end of your song, come up with a kiss or simply hold hands side by side while facing your guests with big smiles and perhaps add a little bow. This is a great photo op, so don’t drag each other off the dance floor the second your love song ends. A three second pause, and it’s a wrap.

Here’s a final hint: with the long bridal gown we can’t really see who’s stepping on who’s toes, so don’t worry and take pleasure in this delightful rite of passage on your wedding day!

Jerry had a fantastic engagement session with Amanda and Ryan at Alpine Groves Park. They are a stylish couple who brought some great props to the shoot!
Ryan is a pilot for United Airlines, and we loved that they wanted to incorporate elements of that into their engagement session.

Don’t you just love Amanda’s boots?!

Amanda and Ryan were all smiles throughout the engagement session, and it’s always a pleasure to capture the happiness of a relationship.

Looking for something a little different for your engagement session? How about adding video fusion – a combination of video clips and photos from your engagement session. You can even incorporate the video as part of your Save the Dates!

Thanks for Amanda and Ryan for a fun day, you make our job easy!! We can’t wait to shoot your wedding in October!

Megan and Sheldon had a gorgeous wedding at the Cummer Museum, and we’re excited to share a few of the special moments from the day.

The Cummer makes for a beautiful background, and we’re always excited to shoot weddings or engagements there.

Megan’s smile was truly infectious and we loved how much she smiled and laughed on this special day.

Megan and Sheldon, we wish you utmost happiness and joy in your marriage!

Our last instagram post of 2012! This year has been amazing for Favorite Photography, and this last month proved no different!

As you can see lots of fun filled our December! We loved all of our weddings and family sessions!

We had quite a few newborn sessions, and being around new life always brings joy! We created a lot of canvas gallery wraps for Christmas presents, and know how happy they made the recipients.

If we could have one wish for 2013 it is that all of the good from this past year could be  multiplied for this next year! Best wishes to you and yours!

We hope you love this video fusion of the colorful holiday lights at Jacksonville’s Friendship Fountain!
