Vilano Beach Family Pictures

Vilano Beach Family Pictures
On one Spring evening in Saint Augustine, Florida two of our photographers took pictures of this beautiful family. The Lowe family selected our 1 hour family package. We met the happy family at the beach and immediately began taking pictures. We like to start off by photographing the younger children while they’re still happy (or corporative lol). Next, we shoot the individual families. Additionally, we are constantly moving locations to get a variety of backgrounds. It is very important that we get the widest range of pictures for our clients to cherish.
Flowers Make for Great Props
Often times, little children will pick up a flower or shell. This little guy did just that. His big smile lit up the beach as he played with the flowers. As shown in the pictures above. Recently, we shot a family & maternity session where the little girl also played with some flowers. To see those pictures click here.
The More the Merrier
The bigger the family, the more love and smiles they have to give. This family of 7 includes two adorable children. Additionally, they brought along grandpa for some pictures. Generational shoots like this are great because they show the entire family.
Logan + Shane Driftwood Beach Engagement Pictures at Big Talbot Island State Park, Jacksonville

Driftwood Beach Engagement Pictures
Logan + Shane are getting married this Saturday (4/3/21) at the Channel Side in Palm Coast. We are so excited to be shooting their wedding. Taking couple’s engagement pictures is great because it gives us a chance to connect with our clients. It also helps them be more comfortable in front of the camera.
Its clear that these Driftwood Beach Engagement Pictures are filled with love. Additionally, the couple went with classic blue and white clothes for their pictures. These colors compliment the driftwood beach beautifully. They even brought their dog in matching attire.
Bring your dog to your session
Often times couples ask to bring their pets to shoots. And we always say “yes.” I mean, who doesn’t love dogs! This happy couple brought a bandana for their dog to wear for pictures. The bandana said “My humans are getting married”! However, some couples choose to bring signs or cute props to their photoshoot. For example, we recently had an engagement session where they brought a sign that had their wedding date on it.
Have Fun with it
It is really important to us that you’re having fun when getting your picture taken. Photoshoots shouldn’t be a boring experience where you’re counting down every minute. We like to talk to y’all and experiment with fun poses. For example, we often have the future groom give his future bride a piggy back ride. This is always super fun and the pictures turn out great.
Boneyard Beach Engagement Pictures
This beach is what we locals like to calla hidden gem. Firstly, its a short drive from the heart of Jacksonville making it convenient. Secondly, it usually isn’t that busy making it very private. Lastly, this boneyard beach is covered in driftwood. We love the different textures of the wood and all the unique poses the trees offer. There are so many options! Couples love to climb and sit on the washed up trees.
Braulia + Rajesh got Married at The White Room in St. Augustine, Florida

White Room Indian Wedding
The White Room is one of the many hidden gems of St. Augustine, Florida. It is a very popular wedding venue. The venue has a lots of options for brides for ceremony and reception locations in their building. Additionally, the White Room is located just a few steps from historic downtown St. Augustine. This White Room Indian wedding was absolutely beautiful. The couple also included an American ceremony.
The White Room has different rooms that brides can get ready in and take pictures. Their bridal suite has a gorgeous mirror and elegant furniture. Great for #instaworthy pictures.
We love the mix of cultures in this wedding. The did both classic American and customary Indian wedding attire. The lovely couple started with an American ceremony. Then followed with Indian ceremonies. They wore rich golds and reds of the decorated Indian garb and detailed henna. The symbolism of joining their two heritages was beautiful.
Two Wedding Ceremonies in One Day
Braulia and Rajesh decided to have two ceremonies in one day. First, they had an American wedding ceremony in The White Room’s Villa Blanca. The bride wore a classic white wedding dress. The bridesmaids wore red gowns. The groom dressed in a dark gray tuxedo suit with a deep red tie and handkerchief. The groomsmen were dressed similar in lighter gray suits.
Outfit Change!
After their classic western wedding the couple changed into traditional Indian wedding clothing and jewelry.
Photographing or videoing weddings with different religions and cultures is one of our favorite. The historical meanings behind these traditions broaden our own views. We witness amazing examples of love and unity across a wide diversity of couples getting married. Click here to see another White Room wedding we did the photography and videography for a Jewish ceremony.
Another popular wedding location in St. Augustine is the Treasury on the Plaza. Both locations are just a few steps from the center of downtown. However, the Treasury is known for its big vault from the old bank. To see wedding pictures at the Treasury click here.
Here’s a couple quick pictures we took of the bride in her stunning Indian wedding lehenga and the groom in his fine sherwani.
Indian Wedding Ceremony
The happy couple wanted to celebrate both Indian and American heritages with their families and friends. Braulia and Rajesh did this by having two ceremonies and reception all in one day. Luckily they had Coastal Celebrations as their wedding planners. Coastal Celebrations did a great job of making sure the day went by without a flaw. Timing is everything on busy wedding days. And had Favorite Studios to photograph all their special moments.
Let There Be Cake!
It is becoming more and more common for couples to do specialty dessert cups along with a wedding cake. We love these portable and delicious treats. They come in so many flavors. So there is something everyone will like. Also, this happy couple had their simple white wedding cake decorated with dark red flowers. The same flowers can be seen in the bride’s bouquet.
Congratulations to the guests that caught the bouquet and garter!
Cheers to the Newlyweds!
Lastly, the happy couple ended their night with a lovely toast and glass of champaign. The wedding reception was held in The White Room’s Grand Ballroom.
Personal Wedding Album Designs
We custom design every wedding album and produce the handcrafted, archival photo books. They are hard-bound with ultra thick, seamless pages. Couples get to pick the images that we use in the album. Additionally, they get to make a final edit before it gets printed. The albums are a great physical keepsake for any wedding. They last a lifetime, just like the memories made that day. Plus, this White Room Indian Wedding in St. Augustine made for a beautiful album.
Walter Jones Historical Park Maternity Pictures

Jacksonville Maternity Photographer
We photographed the Thompson’s wedding years ago and now they are having their second child. Wow… time flies!
Capturing special moments in people’s lives is one of our greatest gifts as photographers. As a team we are maternity, newborn, and family photographers dedicated to serving the people of Jacksonville and Saint Augustine. Florida is our home and we are proud to be Jacksonville photographers. As such we pride ourselves in knowing the hidden gems of the area that are perfect for any family or couple’s personal style.
Walter Jones Historical Park
This historic 10 acre park was founded in 1994 and is a charming place for engagement, family or maternity pictures. The park offers a diverse array of backgrounds for photos. It has lots of greenery as well as numerous types of flowers that look stunning in photographs. Additionally, little children love to pick the flowers and have fun which makes for great candid shots with big smiles. Apart from the lively flora, is the historic white house that sits in the center of the park. We often find ourselves posing families at the back and front of the house for pictures, but occasionally we’ll have kids who run around the place. Their enthusiasm is a joy to photograph naturally.
Maternity Picture Ideas
There are definitely some classic maternity picture poses like resting the hands on the belly. But there are also some other creative shots that we enjoy taking. For example, we love overlaying the parents hands on the baby bump to create a heart. Not only is this cute, but it symbolizes all the love that the parents have for their unborn child. Pictures where an older sibling is kissing their mother’s stomach is adorable. When we photograph a maternity session with other big brother/sister, we make sure to do this pose. It is always a crowd pleaser.
As adorable as their daughter was, we made sure to get pictures without her. We find it equally important to get photos of just the couple during a maternity session, as well as beautiful pictures of the pregnant mother-to-be.
I don’t know if you can tell but it was pouring rain in these last series of photographs. Florida weather is so unpredictable, but luckily is didn’t start raining until the end of this maternity session. We had enough time to take shelter under the house, and were still able to keep taking gorgeous pictures.
Cassie + Dimi Engagement Pictures at Downtown Saint Augustine and Vilano Beach

Saint Augustine Engagement Photographer
Cassie + Demi hired us to be their Saint Augustine Engagement Photographer. However, we did have to take certain safety processions because of COVID-19. We are doing small intimate shoots at this time but we make sure to keep our distance and wear masks. Our customer’s safety and well being is always our first priority. Secondly, we prioritize taking great pictures (duhhh) 🙂
Due to our decades of shooting in this area we know some of then best place for pictures. We love to take couples to this small road filled with wildlife.
We are always on the hunt for the best places to take pictures of couples and families. After decades of taking pictures in the downtown St. Augustine are we think we have found the most dynamic and beautiful places for pictures. One of our go-to places for engagement sessions is this hidden road tucked away from the public. The ancient trees make for a lovely background for pictures. Additionally, we enjoy taking pictures with couples on St. George Street which is at the heart of downtown. Another great engagement blog post in downtown Saint Augustine is of Stephanie and Aaron.
Outfit & Location Change
This happy couple decided to change into more casual clothes for their seaside pictures. Additionally, this happy couple brought a bottle of champagne and glasses as props. This was our first tame photographing a couple opening a bottle of champagne, but we LOVE the way the pictures turned out. The pictures are filled with laughter and joy. What do you think of the champagne popping pictures? We also took pictures of the couple holding the champagne flutes during sunset.

Jasmine + Israel Engagement Pictures in Jacksonville
Jacksonville Engagement Photographer Jerry and Karen Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Jacksonville Engagement Photographer
Downtown Jacksonville is a beautiful place to take engagement pictures. We love to take pictures of couples at Treaty Oaks. The 250 year old tree and its boardwalk are great for pictures. This is because you can get close to the historic oak tree or pose on one of its massive branches. Even though some of the limbs have fell to the ground the tree still reaching skyward. It isn’t everyday that you find such a large oak tree in a city. Let alone one that is older than the city itself. The natural scenery is a great contrast to the city. For another engagement session at Treaty Oaks click here and for other engagement pictures click here.
Another Jacksonville aesthetic is the Saint Johns River. The city os known for its beautiful waterfront locations that are great for pictures. Our top place to get waterfront pictures in downtown Jacksonville is Friendship Fountain. This riverside location creates an awe-inspiring setting for engagement pictures.
Outfit Change
Jasmine and Israel decided to change outfits halfway through their shoot. Additionally, the couple had custom shirts saying “the Mr” and “the Mrs.”
Addie + Michael got Married at Epping Forest Yacht Club in Jacksonville
Jacksonville Wedding Photographer Jerry, Karen, and Hannah Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography
Jacksonville Wedding Photographer
Throughout this blog we will go over the details of Addie & Michael’s wedding. They got married at the Epping Forest Yacht Club in Jacksonville, Florida this past September. The Epping Forest Yacht Club is a great wedding venue because of its romantic ambience and long history. This distinguished Jacksonville wedding venue combines old architecture and modern amenities that are great for weddings. Plus it photographs beautifully.
Wedding Invitations
While the bride is getting her makeup done we like to take detail shots of her dress and accessories. First, we used the macro lens to get sharp close up images of the rings. Second, we hung her wedding dress up for pictures. Lastly, we arranged the invitations and Addie’s accessories for some photos. Additionally, we included her gorgeous bouquet to tie in her wedding colors.
Groom & Groomsmen Picture Ideas
The bride and groom booked a two photographer package for their wedding. This is great because we can be in two places at once and capture every moment. Likewise, we can get the pictures of the groom and his groomsmen before the ceremony. This helps save time later during formal pictures.
The Epping Forest is known for having numerous locations/backdrops for pictures. Jerry took pictures of the groom and his groomsmen by the water and on the iconic stairs.
First Look Wedding Photos
Addie and Michael decided to do a first look before their ceremony. Michael, the groom, waited at the bottom of the stairs as his bride to be, Addie, walked to him. We love capturing these special intimate moments.
Outside Wedding Ceremony & Reception
Addie & Michael had their wedding ceremony at the Epping Forest Yacht Club Gardens by the water. Luckily, it was a beautiful sunny day and their faces were illuminated by the sun. The couple also had an outdoor cocktail hour and reception. The cocktail hour took place by the grand fountain. On the other hand the wedding reception was held in the garden and by the water.
Florida weather is always a guessing game. Couples always run the risk of having it rain on their wedding, but this wasn’t the case for the bride and groom. As a Jacksonville wedding photographer we have had multiple weddings that have had to work around the rain, but they made it work. Additionally, it was a beautiful day that was not too hot for Addie & Michael’s outside wedding.
Bride & Groom First Dance Pictures
Couple Pictures at Sunset
Outdoor venues offer the opportunity to take pictures of the bride and groom at sunset. The Epping Forest Yacht Club is a waterfront location. We took the bride and groom down to the water for pictures with the colorful sky. Florida sunsets are the best! Recently we photographed a wedding at Guana State Park, and it had the most beautiful sunset. To see more click here.
Personalized Wedding Details
A wedding is all about the bride and groom. As a result many couples customize decorations to match their personalities. Often times couples add a memorial table to honor family members who were unable to attend the wedding. For instance the picture above is of Addie & Michael’s table that displays their lost loved ones. On the other hand, couples will customize little details like candy. Addie & Michael had cute personalized Hershey kisses that had their names on them. They also had special cocktails that represented each one of their dogs. So cute!

Baby Wilcox’s First Birthday

Jacksonville Family Photographers
We have been taking pictures of families for years, and many of our clients become our friends. In June 2011 we shot Tracy & Dan’s wedding. Additionally, we have had the opportunity to take all their family pictures and watch as their beautiful family grows.
Most of our family photoshoots are on location. As Jacksonville family photographers we pride ourselves in knowing the best places. It should be noted that these pictures were taken at Walter Jones Park. We love this little park because it has a little barn, beautiful flowers, and has water access.
Baby’s First Birthday
Happy birthday Callyn! Not only did the Wilcox’s do a family session with us, but also they brought props to celebrate the big #1. This was Callyn first time having sugar, and she loved it. Often parents do a first birthday shoot where the child eats their cake to document their funny faces.
We love these first birthday pictures so much that we did them for all three of our children. Along with the cake, the Wilcox’s brought fun decoration and a birthday hat that made the pictures more festive. For more pictures of babies click here.
Modern St. Augustine Wedding
Saint Augustine and Treasury on the Plaza Photographers: Jerry, Karen, and Hannah Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography based in St. Augustine, Florida
Downtown Saint Augustine, Florida
Jamie and Brian got married in the Spring of 2019. The happy couple picked us as their Treasury on the Plaza photographers to document their wedding day memories. From getting ready, details, candids, posed shots, guests, family, friends, festivities to the very end. After the ceremony we took the couple and their bridal party outside for pictures. We took a variety of classic poses and lots of fun, modern pictures of the bridal party.
Jamie’s bouquet had blush roses, soft greenery, and maroon ribbon tying it all together. Additionally, we took a macro photo of the couple’s wedding bands on the bouquet to get colorful detail pictures of the rings. Check out those diamonds!
Jamie had a bedazzled floral hair piece that matched her earrings. Her hair was styled in a low twisted bun for a beautiful updo.
St. Augustine Wedding Photographers
Rain does not stop us. Sadly, we could not go outside before the ceremony to get pictures of Jamie and her bridesmaids. However, we were able to get pictures of them inside the Treasury’s lovely entrance hall foyer.
“I cross my heart & promise to give all I’ve got to give make your dreams come true. In all the world you’ll never find a love as true as mine.” Adorable custom wedding ceremony sign.
The One in White
Jamie wore a gorgeous lace wedding dress with a fitted silhouette, v-neckline and elegant shoulder straps. For the ceremony she wore a modern, mid length veil with a thin crystal trim.
When taking pictures of big groups we find it very important that everyone is having a good time. And when we say big, this was a bridal party of 19 total! Taking fun photos like this really helps keep the mood positive. Also, they make for super great pictures. In this case, we had the groomsmen hold the bride under the gazebo.
Castillo de San Marcos Wedding Pictures
Following the ceremony we took the newly weds downtown for private, romantic pictures. Their smiles were truly infectious, and you could see the love in their eyes. After taking pictures outside, we went back to The Treasury to use the historic gold elevators and grand window as backdrops.
Treasury on the Plaza Photographers
The Treasury on the Plaza offers wonderful lighting packages. Including, some with custom projections of the couples names/initials. Also, couples can choose to have a cloud of fog during their first dance. Jamie and Brian took advantage of the magical fog to get even more magical pictures. For another wedding at the Treasury on the Plaza click here.
The happy couple had a mouthwatering display of pretzels. Guests could take a pretzel and close from any one of the sauces as an appetizer.
Classic Sparkler Grand Exit
Jamie and Brian said goodbye to their guests with a bang! Guests lined the streets of downtown St. Augustine, Florida with sparklers.
Kirsten & Stephen’s Classic Engagement Pictures
Jacksonville Wedding Photographers; Jerry, Karen, and Hannah Favorite | Favorite Studios Photography + Cinematography based in St. Augustine, FL
Change Location & Outfits
Kirsten and Stephen decided to book an engagement session with an outfit change. The couple wore a different outfit for the outdoorsy, wooded location and the beach area. Each outfit was beautiful and matched the location vibe we were taking pictures at.
Engagement & Wedding Package
A lot of our brides choose to add engagement pictures to their package. This is such a wonderful time to get to know each other and get amazing photos of the happy couple in a relaxed, fun and comfortable way. We photographed Kirsten and Stephen’s wedding recently at Jacksonville’s Golf and Country Club. To see their wedding day blog post click here.
Beach Engagement Photographs
Firstly, we love the beach! And Second, we LOVE taking pictures at one of our many gorgeous beaches along Florida’s first coast. This pretty engagement session was at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in Jacksonville, Florida. Hanna Park is close to the Mayport area and offers beautiful, natural settings. There are nature trails, lakes, big oak trees with Spanish moss, long wooden beach walkovers, sand dunes, sea oats and soft white sand against the dark blue ocean waters. (Also a popular surf spot!)
We are a photography and videography studio based in Florida, so we are constantly taking pictures at the beach. Over the years we have shot many beach weddings and classic engagement pictures along the coasts of Florida. Click here to see more of our engagement pictures.
Dramatic Lighting for Pictures
After sunset it gets dark quick, but can still be a beautiful time for photos. The sky illuminates with vibrant hues. Therefore we often bring an extra off-camera light to capture dramatic images at dusk during engagement sessions.
