Blues and grays mixed with pretty patterns made for casual yet classy outfits. Florida’s natural environment of warm browns, greens and soft blues are picture perfect.
Trees like this great old oak, sand dunes and the Atlantic Ocean are a timeless backdrop and a perfect place to play and get lots of fun photos.

We just love to photograph amazing families all along our East Coast. From Amelia Island, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, Saint Augustine Beach to on down to Palm Coast, and everything in between. Vilano Beach and Crescent Beach are two of our favorite beaches for family photos. If you’re looking for a little variety in addition to just beautiful sandy beaches, consider these two options. Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in north Jacksonville by Mayport Naval Station offers wooded nature trails, a lake setting, a great beach walkover and sand dunes. Washington Oaks Gardens State Park south of River to Sea Preserve by Marineland has a lovely garden side and a beautiful beach side with coquina rocks. These family pictures were taken in the popular vacation destination of Amelia Island, Florida.
The Rodey family from Maryland traveled to Florida for their summer vacation and was looking for a St Augustine family beach photographer. We are so happy they found Favorite Photography and chose us to capture their memories.
Saint Augustine Beach Photos + Family Album
With three children, plus spouses and a total of 5 grandkids all traveling from around the U.S., scheduling a family photo session is a great way to remember this special time. Plus it’s lots of fun taking pictures on the beach!
Blues, greens, pinks and coral colors looked wonderful in the beach photos. Each family coordinated their outfits without being to matchy-matchy. Mixing solids with pretty patterns is a nice way to create balance when picking out the wardrobe for your family portrait. Natural white beach sand, soft greens and tans of the sea oats and blues of the ocean waves and sky are a perfect backdrop.
We love photographing outside, especially during the golden hour. Because as the sun is setting, we get most beautiful natural light on the beach. Plus it tends to be a tad bit cooler in the early evening, with a nice breeze… and we’ll take all the help we can to beat a little summer heat and intense sunshine.
Finally, what better way to preserve these cherished moments at the beach than with one of our premier family photo albums. Jerry had the pleasure and honor to photograph Shequila and Marcus’ lovely downtown St Augustine family photos. The kids are super cute and so much fun… what a blessing!
Historic St Augustine is a photographer’s dream – full of character, textures and colors for the most beautiful backdrops. We enjoy shooting around the big Castillo de San Marcos fort, along the intracoastal waterway on down towards the boat docks and Bridge of Lions, and over to the landmark carousel.
In addition to taking Shequila and Marcus’ family pictures, Jerry photographed their engagement session in Saint Augustine, then together with Karen, captured their beautiful Amelia Island wedding with both photography and videography.
Following a couple’s happy journey is amazing and stays with us forever.

Thankfully we have such mild winters in Florida that getting awesome Winter Holiday Beach Photos possible pretty much year-round. And around the holidays is a wonderful time to get the family together to make memories. One of our previous wedding couples, Shannon and Matt, brought their adorable baby boy to the beach along with grandparents to capture these precious moments.

Being a St Augustine family photographer is one of the most rewarding and fun jobs ever!!!
Karen enjoyed photographing the Hicks family at Vilano Beach when they visited Saint Augustine. And we thank them for letting us capture a little slice of their life!
They don’t call Florida the “sunshine state” for no reason! It is generally very bright out on the beach which is why recommend the “golden hour” before sunset for the most beautiful pictures. Morning time, during sunrise, is also an option, but that works well if your family are all “early birds”. With young children, it’s always best to work around their schedule as we want them to be happy and energetic. Trip plans and rainy weather (look out for sudden thunderstorms) can also affect the timing of a perfect family photo session. No matter the day, season or time, we will prevail.

Enjoy a walk through one of Jacksonville’s best places, the beautiful Walter Jones Historical Park and Mandarin Museum. We did! The natural settings, big oaks with Spanish moss dangling from limbs, magnolia trees and historic buildings make a perfect location for family pictures. Why do we love being a local St Augustine child photographer? Just take a look at some of the pictures from Sadie’s one year baby photo session, and you shall see why! Words can’t express the joy we find in capturing these priceless family moments.
Shooting on location has it’s challenges and though we have a studio for the more traditional portrait sessions, you just cannot compare the opportunity to let your little one roam free and explore their natural surroundings. Being outside gives a variety of unique backdrops, colors and lighting for organic, relaxed images. The candid moments and pure expressions make us truly feel the wonder of having a child.
Jerry photographed Rebekah and James wedding, so it was especially nice to be chosen to take their new family photos. What a cute, adorable little daughter they have been blessed with! We know they will cherish these amazing memories and we look forward to watching her grow.
St Augustine, Florida has so many wonderful locations that are free and open to the public. This is one of our favorite “secret” spots for family and baby pictures. Typical with outdoor Florida, you may need sunscreen and bug spray! But totally worth the effort (and a little sweat) for these amazing backgrounds of blooming flowers, green grass, banana trees, oak trees, crepe myrtles and other gorgeous flora.
While we absolutely adore the beach for family pictures, we also really LOVE this flowering garden setting. A lot of little kids don’t enjoy getting all sandy and a pretty park with colorful flowers is a beautiful option. There also tends to be less pictures for a more natural and relaxed baby and family photo session.

Family’s First Year Photos: Highlights from Maternity, Newborn, 6 Month and 1 Year Photo Sessions
We photographed Tracy and Dan’s wedding in July of 2011 and was so excited to hear they were expecting their first baby two years later. It is always an honor to photograph new families, especially when we’ve had the opportunity to see how their relationship started – from engagement session to wedding day.
Maternity Pictures | Beautiful Outdoor Session
Tracy and Dan’s maternity session last summer was shot at the lovely Washington Oaks gardens and beach in Palm Coast. Tracy looked fantastic in the jewel purple and the rich greens were a beautiful backdrop for their maternity pictures.
I love these belly bump photos on the beach. Tracy and Dan decided not to find out if their baby was a boy or a girl, so they incorporated both a pink and a blue ribbon. Though they did not know the gender of the baby, they had picked out the baby’s name, Jayden, and made adorable alphabet blocks in the color scheme of the nursery.

Drum roll… it’s a GIRL! Welcome baby Jayden. She was absolutely perfect and had a gorgeous head of hair for her newborn photo session.
Their wedding rings around those cute little baby feet is classic! I also adore the Dr. Seuss props and custom chair with Jayden’s name on it that they brought for the photo shoot. They really add a custom, personalized element to their baby pictures.
6 Month Old Baby Pictures | Mandarin Park Outdoor Location Shoot
Wow, babies grow up so fast! By winter, Jayden was six months old and starting to sit up all on her own. We had a grand time exploring a nearby park for her 6-month photo session.
This adorable baby girl just loved watching the bubbles float by and playing with her mommy and daddy.
Tracy and Dan are loving parenthood! We live for capturing these precious, growing-up moments for their family to cherish and look back on years from now.
1 Year Old Baby Photos | Studio Session
I can hardly believe a year has passed! We recently brought Jayden back to the studio for her one year photo session. Check out their tradition of taking a photo with a photo in a frame, that all started on their wedding day.
All dressed up and ready for fun. During her 1-year photo shoot, she liked rocking in our rocking chair, playing with her balloons and messing around with the tulle and her pretty beaded necklace. The jumbo flower hair piece is so adorable. She is going to be running around driving all the boys crazy before we know it.
